• Locate the microchip number: Check your pet’s paperwork for the number, or visit a vet, animal shelter, or animal service event to have your dog scanned. 
  • Identify the microchip company: Use the number to find the company and registry online, or use the AAHA’s Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. 
  • Log in to your account: Go to the registry’s website and create or log in to your online account. 
  • Update your contact information: Enter your new address, phone number(s), and email address in your profile. 
  • Save your changes: Make sure to save the updated information to ensure your pet can be reunited with you if lost.
